The FBI said it has made an arrest and is conducting a search of a home at a residence in Massachusetts, according to a statement by the agency. It appears to be the home of the mother of the suspected leaker of the classified documents that have circulated on social media in recent days. The home is located in North Dighton, Massachusetts, the FBI said — the same town where the potential leaker and his mother live, according to a review of public records by POLITICO.The New York Times was the first to report that the leaker is likely Jack Teixeira, 21, a member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard. The 21-year-old appears to have been part of a small group on the Discord social media platform. He first wrote about the sensitive information in written paragraphs, paraphrased from the documents, months ago, as POLITICO previously reported. Starting in January, he began posting photographs of printouts of the documents, which had been folded and then smoothed out.The docume...FBI agents swarm Massachusetts home in document leak probe

WASHINGTON (AP) — FBI agents converged Thursday at the Massachusetts home of a member of that state’s Air National Guard who has emerged as a main person of interest in the disclosure of highly classified military documents on the Ukraine war, two people familiar with the investigation said Thursday.Investigators believe that the guardsman, who specializes in intelligence, led the chat group where the documents were posted, according to the two people, who were not authorized to discuss an ongoing investigation publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press. They identified the guardsman as 21-year-old Jack Teixeira. It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer who could speak on his behalf, and a phone message left at a number believed to belong to his mother was not immediately returned. Law enforcement officials roped off the street near the home. The New York Times, which first identified Teixeira o Thursday, said that a man who had been st...A fireball landed in the US last week, and now there’s a reward to find it

(CNN) — Meteorite hunters, get ready to head into the woods.A museum in Maine is offering $25,000 for the remains of a space rock that streaked across the sky last week before landing near the border between the United States and Canada. The fireball, which was visible in broad daylight and created a sonic boom, was detected by radar, allowing NASA’s Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science (ARES) Lab to calculate the “strewn field” — where fragments of the meteor might be found — near Calais, Maine.Darryl Pitt, head of the meteorite division at the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum, said he was keen to study any fragments of the meteorite, which could contain valuable information about the solar system. The $25,000 reward is for the first meteorite piece found that weighs 2.2 pounds (1 kilogram) or more. However, he said the museum would be willing to pay for any specimen “irrespective of its size.”“Finding meteorites...Odell Beckham Jr. says ‘possibility’ of playing with QB Lamar Jackson part of decision to join Ravens

Odell Beckham Jr. said he didn’t get any assurances that Lamar Jackson would be the Ravens’ quarterback this season, but the wide receiver acknowledged the “possibility” of teaming up factored into his decision to sign with Baltimore.“The goal was to come here and have the possibility of playing with him,” Beckham said at his introductory news conference Thursday at the Ravens’ facility. “I was just excited about the possibility of that. My thoughts would be that he would be here.”General manager Eric DeCosta said that he hasn’t spoken with Jackson since Beckham signed with the Ravens earlier this week, but that he has talked with the star quarterback since Jackson revealed three weeks ago that he requested on March 2 to be traded. DeCosta added that he’s optimistic the 2019 NFL Most Valuable Player will be the Ravens’ quarterback this season.“Lamar is in our plans,” DeCosta said Thursday. “We&...Hot Property: Have the whole thing in Woods Hole

There’s a glittering contemporary home perched on nearly two acres at 77 Fay Road in Woods Hole that stands apart from the traditional coastal architecture — in the most spectacular way.Built in 2000, the seaside retreat sits right on Vineyard Sound and calls on elements of mid-century modern architecture — sloped ceilings, clerestory windows, walls of glass, and warm wood paneling.Clean lines, design simplicity, and Shoji-like accents recall a Japanese sensibility. The result is a home that feels peaceful and serves as a natural extension of its surroundings. And yes, there are water views for days, plus a private beach and jetty for the ultimate summer headquarters.A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, modern corner fireplace, and tall ceilings make for a dramatic great room. Opening to both the elegant and functional kitchen space and a window-wrapped sunroom, this corner of the sprawling 6,780 square-foot home is naturally stylish and unfussy, just what you’d want in a beach house...Photos: Wind and rain pound South Florida, major flooding closes roads, airport

NEW YORK (AP) — Wall Street is gaining ground Thursday following the latest sign that inflation continues to cool. The S&P 500 was 1.3% higher in afternoon trading after a report showed inflation at the wholesale level slowed last month by more than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 340 points, or 1%, at 33,986, as of 2:27 p.m. Eastern time, while the Nasdaq composite was 2% higher.Thursday’s report showed that prices paid to producers last month were 2.7% higher than a year earlier, the lowest inflation level there in more than two years. The hope on Wall Street is that easier inflation on the wholesale level will not only support profits for companies but also flow through to cooler inflation for consumers. A day earlier, a separate report said inflation for consumers slowed to 5%. Inflation and how high the Federal Reserve will hike interest rates to tame it have been at the center of Wall Street’s struggles for more than a year. The Fed has hiked rates at such...Latest news
